A Personal Passion: The Ingram Collection at Hestercombe

Contemporary Art in Reclaimed Spaces

A new exhibition of works from the Ingram Collection is now on show at Hestercombe Gallery and Gardens in Somerset.

Curated by Tim Martin, “A Personal Passion” displays 36 works from The Collection in the simple yet effective gallery space within Hestercombe House, all framed by views of the stunning formal gardens, designed by Gertrude Jekyll & Sir Edwin Lutyens.

Tim has chosen a fascinating range of works which not only represent Chris Ingram’s personal interests and collecting instinct, but which highlight some interesting resonances and themes between the Modern British and the Contemporary elements of The Collection. The exhibition presents an intriguing opportunity to see works by contemporary artists such as Peter Howson, Ken Currie, Ray Richardson and Suki Chan alongside Modern British luminaries such as Dame Elisabeth Frink, Lynn Chadwick, Kenneth Armitage, and Frank Auerbach.

Hestercombe’s film of the exhibition, which includes an interview with Chris Ingram, is available to view here:

The exhibition runs until Sunday 5th July. To find out more, visit: www.hestercombe.com
