This summer The Ingram Collection has made one of its first international loans to the Artipelag Gallery in Stockholm. The tiny and jewel-like Iris Tree on a Horse by Dora Carrington will be on display in the first exhibition to be held in Sweden in celebration of the Bloomsbury Group.
The exhibition will showcase the modernism, boldness, optimism and anti-authoritarian approach of the Bloomsbury Group, demonstrating their full creative range of painting, photography, interior design, textiles, patterns, literature, furniture design, books, graphics, dance, garden art and fashion.
The exhibition will also recreate Charleston, Vanessa Bell’s summer house in Sussex, which became the hub of the group. Before even entering the art gallery, visitors will walk through a Charleston-inspired garden in Artipelag’s entrance courtyard, which continues into the gallery, complete with ivy, roses and boxwood.
