In Maquette II Two Reclining Figures, gender is clearly defined between male and female forms. Lynn Chadwick attributes the female form with a triangular head and the male form with a square face. Although still very geometric, this work takes on a more curvilinear structure. You begin to see movement in the figure, typically displayed in his later works, through the twisting position of the female figure and the leaning gesture of the characters.
