Lynn Chadwick’s career as an artist began in 1948, at age 35. Eight years later he won the International Prize for Sculpture at the Venice Biennale, one of the art world’s most prestigious prizes. This later work, with its pyramidal head, has a powerful presence, despite lacking facial features.
