This is a set of four prints taken from the illustrations for a picture book called Up All Night. The original book is a series of 21 watercolour and crayon illustrations, merged into one long concertina book.
The story follows a cast of anthropomorphic characters on their journey through the night towards a party and back home again. Spring Fling is the party of the year – a celebration of the beginning of spring which starts at midnight and finishes at dawn.
The characters are inspired by London’s urban wildlife and feature the personalities of the city. The inspiration for this project came during the night, while Miriam was working at her desk and listening to the sounds of foxes. Although she could hear them, she couldn’t see them, and so she started to imagine what these animals might get up to during the night.
