A landscape painter, Wood studied at the Académie Julian in Paris 1921. A close friend of Pablo Picasso, Georges Auric, Jean Cocteau and Sergei Diaghilev, he became a member of the London Group in 1926 and the 7 & 5 Society 1926-30. He exhibited with Ben and Winifred Nicholson at the Beaux Arts Gallery (1927).
