Katharina Fitz

Katharina Fitz is an Austrian-born artist currently based in Nottingham. She earned her BA in Photography and Film from the Sant Ignasi Insitute in Barcelona in 2008 and completed her MFA at Nottingham Trent University in 2019. In 2019 she was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries and won the One Thoresby Street Production Award as part of the NAE Open. In 2020 she had her first solo show titled ‘When Seams Become Audible’ at One Thoresby Street, was chosen for the Gilbert Bayes Sculpture Award, organised by the Royal Society for Sculptors and selected for the ‘New Editions Series’ by London Bronze. In 2021 she received the DYCP grant by the Arts Council, realised her first commission ‘Catch and Release’ showcased at LCB Depot in Leicester and was selected as one of the winners of the Ingram Prize. She published a monograph with Beam Editions in 2021 and in 2024 she had her first institutional solo show at Kunsthalle FRO in Austria.
