A landscape and flower painter, Nicholson studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art and in Paris. The first wife of Ben Nicholson, she exhibited with him at the Paterson Gallery in 1923. She was a member of the 7 & 5 Society (1925–35) and the New English Art Club (1937–43).
